About Bleacher Brawls
Bleacher Brawls is a free sports trivia site for fans who like to settle arguments with facts.
Why it exists
Every sports fan has sat in the bleachers and argued with a rival fan about who really played where, who put up which numbers, and who actually won that game. Bleacher Brawls turns those arguments into puzzles. Pick your team, pick an era, and find out how much you really know. Then send the result to the friend who thinks they know more.
What you can play
The site has mystery-player puzzles, where you work out who a player is from clues about his career, and box score games, where you rebuild a real game from its stat lines. They cover both MLB and the NBA, with daily challenges and a leaderboard race called Around the League. Each game has its own guide:
- Name That Player Trivia (MLB)
- Career Path (MLB)
- MLB Box Score Starting 9s
- NBA Career Path
- NBA Box Score Top 5s
New to the site? The how to play overview explains scoring, eras and the daily challenge.
Built on real data
Every clue and every box score comes from real statistics. Baseball data comes from the official MLB Stats API, and basketball data comes from BALLDONTLIE. Puzzle players are chosen so that the answer had a meaningful role with the team, rather than someone who barely appeared. Team names in NBA puzzles use the name the team had at the time, so a clue about a Seattle player shows the Sonics rather than the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Stats databases occasionally have gaps or errors, especially for older seasons. If you spot something that looks wrong, please tell us.
Independent and free
Bleacher Brawls is an independent fan project. It isn’t affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Major League Baseball, the NBA or any team. Team names are used only to describe the teams in the games. The site is free to play and may be supported by advertising. You can read how we handle information in our privacy policy.
